What to do and
see when you visit
Gatlinburg and
Pigeon Forge

We left our
home Wednesday and arrived around noon in Pigeon Forge. It was lunch time so we decided on a place
for lunch. The Flying Horse immediately caught
all of us as the perfect place. You can
ride the carousel and watch people ride while you are eating. (I was ready for a nap after, however the kids
were in high gear)
We had
organized this vacation to see Dollywood and to stay in an authentic (but luxurious!)
log cabin. So we strategically arrived
at Dollywood promptly at 3 pm so we could return for
free the following day. We had a blast!
After a
wonderful night in our cabin, (the kids went to bed early, exhausted from the
action packed day) we woke up at our leisure and cooked a humongous
brunch. We returned to Dollywood as planned and rode every ride at least once
again.
I could go on
for hours about every little thing we did, but for the remaining 5 days of our
stay here is what we did:
Greenbrier Restaurant
for dinner: Amazing view from a wall of windows of the city lights. Rustic, elegant atmosphere.
Ripley’s Aquarium: You can
take a break on the veranda and continue on when you are rested.
Aunt Mahalias: Candy, candy, candy! Bring an extra small cooler just for the
unique desserts you will find.
The Village: Even if you don’t want to shop, at least walk
through and see this quaint little village of shops.
The Peddler: On the river, you won’t believe t he salad
bar! Be sure to go with an
appetite.
Wonderworks: My favorite, the kids were entertained for
hours! (Get a coupon at Heavenly
Mountain Vacations office)
Our
Cabin: See the description! Need I say more?
These are just
the highlights, and we could have stayed another week and we still couldn’t do
all that we wanted. We’ll just have to
return next year.
I hope this
helps visitors find the unique and memorable places in Gatlinburg and Pigeon
Forge!
Thanks and Enjoy!
